I'm not sure whether to be amused, or appalled. I guess it depends on which books you use ...

I find #6 particularly disturbing.

Sorry, I should have put a warning in the title - "Not for the Faint of Heart" or "Not for the Literarily Sensitive" or some such.

It's bad enough that people would do that to books, but the things they do are also just ticky-tacky.

Wow. Just wow.

I picked up a book at a library sale once and opened it to see how big the print was (tell the truth, you do that too). The inside of it was cut out like #2 (I think that's the one). The book was Fear-L. Ron Hubbard. I took it as an omen and put it to the side.

There was a book in my garage. It was old, and moldy, and probably a book that no one would ever read (can't remember the title). It sat there for years before I could throw it away. And even then, I kept pulling it out of the trash.

Leave the moldy ones in the garbage or use them as mulch. Remember that they can infect other books if they come in contact (rather like an STD). If they were that good, buy yourself a new copy.

When I have a book that is truly "worthless", such as old computer or text books, I cut the leaves out and recycle the paper. It's all part of the circle of life. At least that's how I comfort myself....
