I know this is an old group, but, thanks to Tim's link, I just found it. I'd be more than happy to add books as I see them while watching the current season.
Reading through the back messages I see that it's come up more than once about adding books that are referenced as well as seen on the island, and with different responses. But I think that this library was started Before Collections, and we could easily use collections to include both types of books. We could even add a third collection for books about Lost if TheIsland agrees. But I do think it would be good to deliberately make the distinction between books actually on the show and books only referenced because, as has been mentioned, some of the references are pretty vague.

Well, I'm already here. Don't forget about the project these mouth-breathers have going:

Greetings!
I started this library a few years ago and have tried to keep it up-to-date ever since. I haven't added anything from the current season yet, though. As I've mentioned before, I'm happy with others participating in the cataloging process, but no one has taken me up on it yet. Guess the password, and you're in! (Don't think too hard...it's one of the often-returned-to-themes, including this season.)
If I remember correctly, so far I've stayed pretty close to the rule of only adding books actually seen on the show. A couple times I added really solid references, like The Epic of Gilgamesh being mentioned in a crossword puzzle (in season 1 I think) and Through the Looking Glass being so obviously referenced in the name of the Dharma Station. That's it, though. I definitely want to stay away from adding every possible reference, as it's endless.
As far as a Legacy Library goes, that is actually how I had the idea to create this library. But the more I thought about it and read about Legacy Libraries, the more I realized it didn't quite fit. This approach seemed the best bet, but I'd be open to making it a Legacy Library if a veteran of those projects thinks it makes sense.
