I just got into hard boiled books about seven months ago after watching the film Brick. I thought this movies is so amazing where can I find books just like it? So I started researching authors and of course I came across Hammett, Chandler and many others. I am now reading The Monkey's Raincoat by Robert Crais and Farewell My Lovely, by Raymond Chandler. If there is any books that you can also recommend to me please feel free to do so. I would appreciate the advice. Thanks.

Try The Library Of America's American Noir boxed set. Eleven classic hardboiled novels in two nice hardcover volumes. Great place to start.

The Postman Always Rings Twice - James M. Cain
They Shoot Horses, Don't They - Horace McCoy
Thieves Like Us - Edward Anderson
Nightmare Alley - William Lindsay Gresham
The Big Clock - Kenneth Fearing
I Married A Dead Man - Cornell Woolrich
The Killer Inside Me - Jim Thompson
The Talented Mr. Ripley - Patricia Highsmith
Pick-Up - Charles Willeford
Down There - David Goodis
The Real Cool Killers - Chester Himes

They also have individual volumes of Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett and David Goodis.

Loved Brick by the way!
