Need books about South Africa or Africa

My 4th grader is going to the world cup and is a good reader. I want to give him an appropriate book about the apartheid or anything South African or African. Any suggestions??? Thanks

I don't have any specific books for this, but if anything goes I'd happily and heartily recommend Anansi-tales. You should be able to find some Anansi tales in any book containing African folklore. ^-^
