Pyro, it might not help to itemize each instance of halation, true. But I say do it if you've an inkling that it might shed some more light on our IJ Studies and understanding. Something you'd list could possibly shed light on something other layer or theme and we could be off and running in all kinds of different directions. I'd encourage you to do it when you can.

Pyro - showing complete ignorance - when you say "halation" do you mean "a blurred effect around the edges of highlight areas in a photographic image caused by reflection and scattering of light through the emulsion from the back surface of the film support or plate. " (dictionary.com), or do you mean something echoing from the character Hal?

>like that a lot. And there's a sense in which the face you present, the map by which the world reads (into which the world conflates) you, becomes the map you go by too--even though you know better, even though you have access to the real "terrain", even though you can't see the map at all except in a mirror. I feel like that explains more of the things we do without knowing why than, like, the "subconscious" or whatever.
