I just listed an old (1929) hardcover book, and noticed on the flyleaf: "Our sister Mary says that (the author) was one of our antecedents. Our grandmother was a (surname)." :-)
Anyone found any other genealogical scribblings in books?

Years ago doing research at the main branch of the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library I came across a book about the Crawfords of Adams County, That may even have been the title of the book. There were many pages where the margins were filled with very neat handwritten notations extending the information on the page. I think it was the books author carefully recording the births, deaths, marriages that happened or were learned about since publication to keep that copy up to date.
