Books & Greetings

Dandelion and Readers: You should know that Books and Greetings has welcomed the children and teacher's you talk about (from the Pie Program) since they've been open. The owners also contribute baskets, books, money, etc. to pretty much anybody who goes in there with a good cause and asks. There are two sides to every story and you are only hearing one side. I am not affiliated with this store and have nothing to gain other than getting the truth heard. The students were not being well supervised. Without proper adult supervision those children, like any, could have been hurt. Did you know a child actually broke something and one of the adults watching them put the item back on the shelf hoping nobody would notice. Additionally it was during the holiday season when the store was very busy. I know all thing because I happened to be a customer in the store at this time. It is a shame Books & Greetings is getting the bad rap here when, if the kids were properly supervised, this would not even be an issue. Get your facts right next time y ou feel like being a martyr. My good friend is a teacher's aid for children with autism. Apparently, she and a few of her coworkers brought a small group of the children into Books & Greetings and were told that they weren't welcome. In fact, I believe that the exact words spoken were, "I don't need you people coming into my store.". Isn't that lovely? Perhaps certain people should try to educate themselves and put aside ignorant prejudices. Absolutely disgusting, unacceptable behavior.
