- The English Department at LIU Brooklyn (Long Island University) hosts "Voices of the Rainbow," a series of readings by well-known poets and fiction writers. We also host a series of readings by students in our creative-writing MFA program. The Department is also proud to welcome a nationally-known writer to campus each year to give the "Paumanok Lecture on American Literature."
