Scout really wants to help people in her run-down and scary neighborhood, but is frustrated at the ineffectiveness of the neighborhood watch. Her best friend Kyisha is on board...until a would be thief hits Scout in the head with a brick. And Scout begins turning into a bizarre, blue alien creature. Scout doesn't mind, as her new form helps her fight crime AND solves the problem of keeping her identity a secret. But then she can't change back. And another girl at school goes missing.

Interesting and a bit rough, like Scout's neighborhood, this features several strong female characters of color in "normal" hero-mode (as Scout calls it).

Meh. Description says this is dystopian, but there's nothing even slightly dystopian about it. It's set in the future, that's it. No talk of over-reaching governments or anything.

And if this isn't inspired by The Maxx, I don't know what is. ( )
