Educational The font and forced rhymes make it hard to actually understand which words are the prepositions in each phrase or sentence. I suppose if you already have a good sense of this part of speech and want reinforcement, and need the goofy humor, ok. But I much more highly recommend [a:Ruth Heller|8265|Ruth Heller|http://www.goodreads.com/assets/nophoto/user/f_50x66-e0ba3b90c110cd67123d6a850d85373e.png]'s [b:Behind the Mask: A Book about Prepositions|3743609|Behind the Mask A Book about Prepositions|Ruth Heller|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1266881922s/3743609.jpg|15422]. This is another great book to use to go along with a language arts activity about prepositions. Again, kids will love to hear a teacher read this book because of all the funny prepositional phrases that are used and all the bright and fun pictures. http://books.google.com/books?id=eGS2avT-MuQC&printsec=frontcover&dq=Und... This is a good website for someone who isn't able to get their hands on the actual book. It isn't the whole book online, but it is at least, 5 or 6 pages of the book. It's enough to get a good idea of the book and still teach a good lesson with prepositions. This book starts off as most of Brian P. Cleary's books do- with a definition. Prepositions are often a hard concept for kids to understand, but I think that Cleary does a great job carefully explaining this concept through words and illustrations (Gable). An explanation of prepositions takes the form of a story as the simple definition from the beginning of the book is stretched out and explained. I think that reading this book when I was originally learning about prepositions would have helped me understand what prepositions are and how they are used in every day language.
