I LOVE the strange Angels series, it is so awesome, I love how Dru can Cry all the time, but still be so badass, and I loved this book as much as every other book in the series. although, I will admit, I cheated. I needed to know Graves was alive and they would find him, so when i started reading it, I flipped to the last page. JUST SO I COULD SEE HIS NAME AND KNOW HE WAS OKAY. I didn't read anything on the last page other than his name. But still, I realize that I am despicable. anyways, so when I was about halfway-3/4 way through the book, I got on my bog, and I wrote this: ...and there have been some certain developments and I’m just saying, over and over and over again, in my head, that I do not believe it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there aren’t many things I wouldn’t put past Christophe. This is one of them. I just… I just don’t believe it. I can’t tell you how much I’m begging there to be some mistake, some misunderstanding, because, I just don’t understand it. At all... fortunately, having gotten to the end of the RECKONING, it seems my initial instincts were right. ish. I don't know, that part was never really explained real well. anyways. This is a very hard book to review. I am a huge fan of Lilith Saintcrow, and she always delivers her best, and there were parts of this book that is her signature - breathtaking chase, brutal fighting, explosive action. But there was also a lot of teenage angst and plenty of confusion on Dru's part which was emotionally tiring. This is a pivotal book is the series. Dru has to make a lot of decisions that would change her life greatly. She is very scarred psychologically, but she perseveres no matter what. The final battle was just perfect, the resolutions amazing. However there are parts mainly concerning Christophe that made me extremely uncomfortable. There was something creepy in his attachment to Dru and her response to him. Otherwise, 2/3 of the book were great. I loved the scene in the baths and the end battle. No matter what, I feel relieved by how it all ended and can't wait for the next book to come out. I liked this book a lot, there was a lot of action, but really, can't Dru ever catch a break? She runs from one emergency to another, and feels trapped and unsafe everywhere. The fact that Christophe didn't tell her about all the attempts on her life helped her not being able to even trust him later. I was very happy that she and Nat had become such good friends, and that the wulfen have accepted her fully. And it was great when she saved Ash! She's a lot more powerful than she thought she was, and she is able to deal with a lot of misfortune at the same time. When she started blooming at the worst time possible, I felt really sorry for her, and it was such a twist to see Anna captured with Graves. Graves and Dru work really well as a team, and they understand each other fully without need for words. I look forward to the next book, wondering what the order will do when she doesn't come back. She took a load of money from Augies place, and I'm sure the three of them with Ash will be able to stay off the grid for a long time. The main reason why this book didn't get five stars from me is that I really wish she'd catch a small break. Is that too much to ask for? Christophe also acted really weird! OK, so he's in love with her, but come on, she's so young, and he trained her mother! And the fact that he's withholding information from her really doesn't help at all. Leon really surprised me, I thought he was on her side, and I was disappointed that there were actually more traitors left at the schola. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

At first I thought Dru was an idiotic, sniveling girlie girl. Strange Angels left some things to be desired. But in this book, we come to appreciate Dru for the kick a** female that she is definitely growing in to. I must know how this series ends! ( )
