This awesome book by Scott Gifford with photos by Shmuel Thaler explains how fractions are related to percentages and decimals. Cute pictures make it even clearer. I absolutely loved it because I teach math and really enjoy such content. Never really though of 1/12 as 8%. I ended upi kin of memorizing all of the examples in the book haha. Will use in class. ( ) I did not like this book. This book is not engaging for students. Students would not want to read this book because it is not a story it is not entertaining and it only consist of boring math problems. I do not think this is a good book for students and i wouldn't recommend this one to get students engaged and excited for math. This book breaks down decimals, percent's, and fractions comparing it to language, they all mean the same thing in a different way. The book gives you a small introduction before taking you into the journey of using these things. Decimals, percent's, and fractions are all different but can we connected while describing parts of things/objects. The book uses everyday scenarios to explain these techniques and uses bright colors to keep the readers attention. I like how the book breaks down the objects into percentage, fraction, and decimal all on the same page so you can see how they are all connected. Great book to show readers how math is such a big part in our every lives. "Piece = Part = Portion" by Scott Gifford was to show how fractions, portions, decimals and percent are related. The concepts of the book are fractions, portions, decimals and percent. The dimensions of the book are: enable natural connections to math, provide opportunity for reader to use math for authentic purpose, and make use of reader's repertoire of knowledge. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
