She loves her neighbors... So when a huge puma is terrifying the village, of course Flor is the one to investigate." Book has beautiful watercolor and etched illustrations and Spanish words mixed throughout. Excellent read-aloud to introduce students to tall tales. Dona Flor is as the title says. Dona Flor is a large woman in a village. She can manipulate the environment around her as well as talk to animals, but the people in her village love her and she loves them. It is categorized as a Mexican American book, and there is an abundance of Spanish language in the story itself. It would be a great read in an English classroom for introducing elements of Tall Tales. Dona Flor is known as the giant woman who protects all of her neighbors. Dona Flor cares so much for her friends and neighbors that she goes out looking for what is putting fever in them. This story is perfect to read to students if there are issues within the classroom because this shows the message of friendship., keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
