this book is about a young girl who immigrates to the United States from Vietnam during the Vietnam war. This book was very emotional as the main character faces many different challenges as she immigrates and tries to find her place in the US. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I think that it would be great for 5th-8th graders.

Book for early middle school 5-6th. Great book to start introducing chapter books. Slightly worried, may be triggering for some kids, with having to leave home and not knowing where their dad is. Good book to read together as a class.

I think this book is for the intermediate to middle school level students. The book is about a little girl names Ha fleeing Vietnam with her family during the war and learning how to adjust to her new life in America. It is a struggle for them because people judge her and her family and she is also trying to learn English.
