GREAT STORY!
I love this book! It was such a favorite when I was a child and even the new remake of it as a movie based on the book is super good! I love this story and how it shows that differences don't matter when you're in love with someone. ( )

This Disney classic Lady and the Tramp is a thoughtful choice. It leads every child that doesn't have a dog - to ask for one. It's such a beautiful story. It teaches children that differences are okay. It teaches them they don't need to be perfect - to be loved. ( )

Summary:
This book depicts a girl dog who loves her family. She finds out a baby will be added to the family and worries. When the baby comes her owners go on vacation leaving Lady with a viscous dog disliking aunt. The aunt tries to blame all the havoc on Lady leaving her on a lease outside. Tramp saves the day and they are both rewarded with a home and a new family of their own.

Personal Reaction:
This was a really cute story. It would make a lot of children laugh and say how funny mischievous tramp is. This story adds alot of great illustrations also that brings the story to life.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Have a show and tell picture day. If the kids have any younger siblings, or pets. Have them discuss why they are important to them and how it felt to add a new addition onto the family.

ISBN 0307010279 – 3 stars. Lady and the Tramp is another Disney/Golden Book that just misses the mark, with a rushed effort to tell too many details making for a poor telling of an excellent story. The illustrations are great, as is usual with Disney, of course,

Lady has a happy life but The Tramp, a homeless dog, tells her that will change when a baby comes into the house. And when a baby does come, Lady worries. Darling and Jim Dear have less time for her and then, to make matters worse, Aunt Sarah comes and immediately orders Lady to be tied up in the yard… and muzzled! The Tramp releases her from her rope and her muzzle and offers to go anywhere she likes; he’s shocked when she chooses home. Thankfully, they arrive in time to alert the family to a fire and, out of gratitude, Jim Dear and Darling take The Tramp into their home.

The speed with which things happen would make a normal person’s head spin, not the children are actually normal people. Lady is tied up, freed, returns home, all seemingly within a few hours. There’s no adventure for Lady and The Tramp - and no spaghetti! Children aren’t likely to be bothered by this, but parents who know the tale will see the holes in the story. Worth reading, but keep an eye out for a more complete adaptation.

This tells the story of Disney's Lady and the Tramp, following the movie pretty closely. Lady's master loves her, Aunt Sarah hates her, the Tramp likes her, she thinks the Tramp's, well, a tramp, but he saves the day and changes her mind. Finally she gets everything sorted out so that it's her with her master and the Tramp and the baby and no Aunt Sarah. ( )
