These books don't normally shock me that ending did! can't wait to see the outcome! ( ) Exciting times in Lake Eden, Minnesota. Hannah is facing competition in her love triangle between dentist Norman and police officer Mike in the form of Norman’s new partner at the dental clinic and Hannah is none too pleased when she is asked to bake a trifle for a surprise birthday party in her competition’s honor. Hannah’s mother Dolores is also having her book launch and Hannah has been called upon to bake a special orange and lemon-flavored cookie from England which sounded scrumptious. This book centered on a murder of a character who came back to town after a long absence and a murder plot that may have had roots in old town history. Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. Omg. I am reeling from the ending! I don't even know what to rate it now. Haha. Okay. Breathe. Breathe. Ready. I am a fan of Hannah's. I have loved this series since receiving the first three books as a Christmas present from my fiance years ago, (when we first started dating. Now you know how he got to be my fiance. A man who knows which books to buy me..keeper. I digress..sorry). I have enjoyed the series and recipes so much. This one went a bit slow for me. I think because I saw things coming way before I should have, except for the ending. That cliffhanger blindsided me! I think now the only thing that will shock me more is a new love interest for Hannah or Hannah's mom deciding to have another child! I could totally picture Delores being a foster mom to a teenage girl and turning her into a fashionista. Hahaha. Back to the book. I love the recipes being included, and I do make many of them, but I thought the book was crowded with them. I'm not certain if it was the number of them or if I just started feeling they were tossed in at every chance as a filler. The mystery was pretty easy to figure out but had a lot of twists and turns. I do wish I could have heard Lisa's reaction to how things wrapped up. I am looking forward to the next book, recipes included. I liked it but didn't love this one. I am thinking three and a half stars but will round up since I loved the cliff, (I normally hate cliffs). Thanks for the recipes on substitutions for sweetened condensed milk, (maybe in the future we will see some cookie recipes made with sugar substitutes for those trying to cut down on sugar). I would recommend this book and a plate of cookies. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
