Adult content! Read it before your child does!
Book started off great, very cute. However three subjects were very in appropriate for children as many other reviews have mentioned. Had I seen the reviews before my in-store purchase I wouldn't have bought it. I wrote to Scholastic to express my concerns regarding the adult fight, the near abduction that was not talked about to the parent and finally the beer given to the child to "mourn" the loss of the dog! Their response was disappointing in my opinion. They felt that while these subject matters were difficult, they were germane to the story. I still disagree and will now always read Amazon reviews before letting my children read something labeled with "Scholastic". Really, beer to an eight year old!! WHO does that????

Roro Review -
References to adultery and violence were inappropriate for the targeted age group of the book. There was never a discussion about the aborted attempted abduction of the child. Advise could have been given to readers re not trusting strangers.

Great book for third grade and above! Deals with issues that kids know about but parents think they don't or SHOULDN'T. The final chapter ties everything up by providing a bit of wisdom for coping with the normal family problems re-told by the story's narrator. ( )

This book is sad towards the end and during the start sometimes sad aswell. This book is also about a family dog and a family. I did really enjoy this book, it's like a normal life with a dog and family. ( )

Mr. Mosely isn't just your average dog. He is a loveable dog. This story is about when he was a puppy until he moves into a new family. ( )
