Lottie is a chicken who receives a beach towel as a gift. There are some creative problem solving skills used as well as new friendships made. ( )

I wish she'd had more than three adventures! And I wish she and her friend the duck had more lively facial expressions - though I admit I don't know how to make fowl frown or grin or fret. At least they weren't stereotypical bunnies or frogs yet again! And the design was different - episodic like a comic strip with several 'pages' worth on each spread. Cute, but not terribly special. If I see more Lottie books I'll pick them up, but I won't seek them out. ( )

I liked that Lottie used her beach towel for multiple functions and to even benefit others. I think it is a good moral for younger students. ( )
