This book has everything I like in a book, dogs, action, adventure, treasure hunting, dogs. (I like dogs). It been years since I read the first book but, the theme in the first book is the same in this book: follow your passion and don’t let anyone stand in your way. Unlike other series I have read this book does not dump everything that happen in the first book all in to the very first pages of the story. Instead it lets out little bits of information as the story progresses remaining you without slowing the story down.

I never like Lorelei and I do not like her at all in this book. She back stab Homer giving it the right tension to make me want to root for Homer even more. I wasn’t sure about Hercules but, I end up liking him. I like how much dept each character has.

The story is a bit predictable with a few good twists and turns. None the less this is an enjoyable story with a lot of humor. I will be looking for the third book: Smells like Pirate.

This is a great book full of adventure. It is quirky and fun. I read this a while back when I was younger and loved it. Great for young kids with a wild mind. ( )

It had been three months. One morning, Homer had received a letter for L.O.S.T. , Homer then quickly ran in to the house, past his mother, upstairs and into his bed room, and the words on the page made Homer smile” you’re time has come.” Then Homer realized that the town fair was that day. Homer had to go. When Homer arrived to the town’s fair Mr. and Mrs.Pudding gave the children money to spend, Homer then headed towards the fortune teller little tent, then the fortune teller told Homer that “ treasure hunting will kill you.” Dog had then spotted running rabbits, and got excited and begun to chase after them. Homer was cashing after Dog and the farm boy was cashing after Dog and the rabbits, and then doing that destroying the Gunslyddyshack. Homer thought that it wasn’t the first time wrecking something, three months ago Homer had burned down the only library that Milkydale had. Homer had been banned from the fair. As Homer returned home, Zelda had appeared ( Zelda is a member form L.O.S.T.), and the took Homer in her cloud copter, and also, to see Mr. Truffletop ( L.O.S.T.’s fashion designer) to get Homer some adventure clothes. Once Homer had returned home Zelda had written a letter to give to Mr. and Mrs. Pudding for Homer to stay with Zelda in her house for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Pudding let Homer go. Homer went on a train to get to Zelda’s house. On the train a women tells Homer that” treasure hunting is the lowest of the low and goat farming is much better.
Homer then got to Zelda’s train stop, and then waited and waited, but no Zelda. Homer then started walking down the train tracks to Zelda’s house, and then Homer and Dog noticed that someone was following them. Once Homer finally arrived at Zelda’s house, Homer met a boy named Herclues Simple. Herclues was afraid of anything and everything. Homer has been wanting to find Rompold Smeller’s treasure. Rompold Smeller was a boy who his father wanted him to see what being a knight was like. Rompold had a sister named Rompolda and more than anything Rompolda wanted to be a knight, travel, or even be free. Rompold had a quest, that quest was that Rompold had to go out into the forest and draw a map. When Rompold had came back, he had successfully finished the map and survived a bear attack.Rompold had to stay in bed, then a weak Rompold told Rompolda to take the money and run far far away to become a ship captain, and she did.
Homer’s clothes from Mr. Truffletop had arrived, and Dog and his had fit perfectly. The L.O.S.T. member’s were starting to arrive for the meeting. The member for L.O.S.T. are 1. Lord MockingBird ( The persident)2. Hercules (the sectary)3. Ajrabah 4. Sir Titus 5.Angus 6.Zelda 7.Dr. Gertrude Magnum 8. Professor Thaddius 9.Torch 10. Jeremiah. Out of nowhere Lorelie appears and challenges Homer for Homer’s Uncle Drake’s chair. Lorelie said that Homer’s Uncle Drake had given the membership coin to her. Then for the quest they had to pick someone to care for Homer and Lorelie. Homer shouted out Zelda and Lorelie then copied, so then they had to draw out of a hat. Loelie drew Zelda, and Homer got Hercules. Homer packed up and then traveled to Hercule’s house. Hercules lived a little ways form the coliseum. Hercules brother’s and sisters were taller and stronger. Hercules’s brother took Homer’s backpack to the coliseum. In a tank Hercules and Homer went to retrieve Homer’s backpack. Homer retrieved the backpack, but then there was a heart stopping thing happened Dog was in the middle of the coliseum digging while the siblings were racing in carriages.
They got the clue that the coin was at Mushroom Island, so then they went to Mushroom island. Homer got to his destination, and he had to skydive. Then after Homer Dog started flying through midair, but Hercules caught Dog. Once they landed a huge moquette swarm started stinging them, and then finally went away in the morning, then there was a note that said “ I’ve got him. You can have him back after I get the coin.” Homer and Hercules were running and then Homer fell into a hole. Hercules had a secret, it was that Hercules is actually strong, but just doesn’t show it, and then Hercules pulls Homer out of the hole. Then they caught up with Lorelie. Suddenly, Lorelie said “don’t move.”
There was a bear. A giant grizzly bear. Lorelie remembered, that she had a honey be a in her backpack. Then she got the honey and unscrewed the top and threw it at the bear. Homer then shouted “RUN!” When they ran they fell into a hole. Hercules had broken his ankle. They thought to call for Zelda. Zelda wouldn’t come because Lorelie stool the cloud copter when Zelda wasn’t looking. Dog started digging.
Dog had uncovered cave or a tunnel. They had to keep going. When they discovered that Dr. Gertrude Magnum had a box with costumes and expensive brochures. Homer had realized two things. One, Lord Mockingbird wanted Homer to find Magnum’s secret crystal stash, and the x didn’t mean anything. Two, Lorelie said” I was only following you,”Then Homer glared at the compass That Lorelie had given Homer three months ago, then realized that the compass was a tracking device, and she was the person following Homer and Dog on the train tracks. Dog and Homer had run off to find the coin. Dog found it and started digging. Dog had found the coin and ate it. Lorelie was horrified by that.
Finally, a boat called cave women two appeared, then a little roe boat was coming to shore. In the roe boat was Magnum and Lord Mockingbird. When they finally arrived they found that Homer won, and magnum got out and wondered off. Lord MockingBird had a secret or two. One, Lord Mockingbird had found Dog on a street, with a man who did that cup game, and Dog was always smelling the treasure, the owner didn’t take notice in that., but Lord MockingBird noticed, and then he bought Dog for a fair price. Then a couple months later Lord got sick and could no longer care for Dog, so he gave him to the most trusted person in L.O.S.T., Homer’s Uncle Drake, and then Drake died so now Dog is Homers. Lord Mocing Bird wasn’t actually crazy, he had a stroke and was older, so people expected him to act like that and so he did. Once Homer arrived home , he saw that the shack was rebuilt. Ajribah had rebuilt it and it was cooler than ever! ( )
