The author has background in modern medicine, counseling, and alternative medicine. I think he got into alternative medicine "after" having a background in modern medicine, so he is probably unsatisfied with what modern medicine has to offer. He is very open to alternative medicine. My mom is also interested in alternative medicine, and I read this book at her recommendation. The author was trying to help his wife with her depression, and one day he had an inspiration about a 6-minute exercise that will help, and when his wife and his counseling clients did it, they enjoyed astounding healing. So this book is about this 6-minute exercise, and a 9-chapter long explanation on why he thinks this exercise works.

I do think this exercise probably works, since he got so much positive feedback from it. But I'm not convinced on how he says this exercise actually works. Because he's basically saying our fingers can shoot out energy, and when we point our fingers to "the 4 healing centers" of our body, our body...gets healed. He didn't provide much arguments regarding why and how our fingers shoot out energy, or why and how those 4 areas of our body are in fact healing centers.

In the 9 chapters on why the exercise works, he talked about something I felt is not really related to the exercise at all -- He talked about how illness is actually the result of our immune system not functioning well enough, and a compromised immune system is the result of our cells not functioning well enough, and unhealthy cells are actually the result of stress. So at the end of the day, our health problems stems from stress -- and not just stress that we consciously experience, but also stress that exist in our unconsciousness, that we are generally unaware of. On top of that, there's "memory" of stress we inherited from our ancestors in our genes. I think this makes a lot of sense! I can see how we are often adhere to a script in our unconsciousness (e.g. "I am unworthy" ) rather than to what we consciously believe is correct. And his concept of "stress" inherited from ancestors reminds me of the Christian understanding of original sin. I've always wondered why healthy cells would just mutate into cancer cells. And modern medicine does acknowledge that when you continuously do things that stress out your cells in a certain organ, you are more prone to suffer from cancer of that organ. (But I don't see how fingers shooting energy into 4 healing centers can relieve these 3 types of stress. He just said it will, but I can't just believe him on faith :P)

What he does have, as a supporting argument on why you should try to use the finger exercise to relieve stress, is he would ask users to rate the degree a mental picture of a negative memory makes you feel bad. And he consistently finds that after the finger exercise, the users feel better about their negative mental pictures. So my conclusion after reading the book is I guess it doesn't hurt to do this finger exercise, even though it looks really silly lol ( )

I have changed the three stars I gave this book to one star, since no matter how many times I wrote to the author and his firm I got no reply to my questions, except one reply from a member of staff on one point, for which I was grateful. More on this later.

I have revised this review slightly,

I found this to be a rather nebulous book containing several unclarities.

Firstly, the book is called “The Healing Code” but Loyd has founded a company called “The Healing Codes” and the term is used in the plural numerous times. I don’t understand whether or not there is a difference between the Healing Code and the Healing Codes.

I spent a long time laboriously ploughing through the book, waiting to get to the actual Healing Code or Codes so I could start to heal myself.

I found it somewhat boring, to me just blah blah blah. But we were told that doing the codes healed Loyd’s wife of depression and also cured Dr Johnson’s Lou Gehrig’s disease (and this is a serious disease).

It is claimed that the Codes can heal/fix everything, not just diseases/illnesses but anything that is not working in one’s life, everything that is not as it should be.

We’re told that there is only one source of illness – stress. Another problem is our destructive cellular memories. When the head and the heart are in conflict, the heart always wins. It is heart issues that cause our problems and the Healing Code or Codes heal these.

When I finally got to the Healing Codes part, I found that these are not what I would call ”codes”, but four hand positions complete with illustrations showing these.

First we should recite the given prayer, inserting the particular issue for which we require healing.

Each of the four positions should be held for about 10 seconds, and the whole thing should last at least 6 minutes. A “Truth Focus Statement” should be repeated while holding these positions, and this was my first shock; for the reader could not get access to these Truth Focus Statements until he or she had registered their book on the authors’ web site. And I couldn’t do this since I had borrowed the book from the library.

So perhaps I had just wasted a lot of time. However, when examining the site in question I eventually somehow find these Truth Focus Statements without registering any book.

As regards the hand positions, three of these positions are easy to carry out, but the second position I found impossible.

It is directly over the Adam’s apple, and in this case the hands should be placed directly on the body (and not a few inches from the body as is the case with the other positions). Now I don’t have an Adam’s apple but could see from the illustration where it was supposed to be. The big problem is that though my hands are not deformed in any way I just can’t get them into the position shown in the drawing. Here they are lying vertically on the chest – I can place them horizontally on the chest but nothing like in the position portrayed. Only if the hands were someone else’s hands could they lie as shown in the drawing.

I was shocked at this. How could the authors ask one to place one’s hands in an impossible position?

I wrote to the authors several times on several websites/Facebook or whatever, but received no reply until eventually I got one from an office assistant who explained that intention was the key: that even if one had no hands at all one could do the position by means of the power of intention. I could accept that, and that is the way I do this position. But she seemed to imply that the fault was with me, though I had made it clear that my hands were not defective in any way. I wrote again requesting an explanation about the inclusion of an impossible hand position, but received no reply.

Another problem was that one had to identify the feelings or unhealthy beliefs related to one’s issue. I have only physical problems and I chose to work on interstitial cystitis. We’re asked to find a previous time in one’s life when we felt the same way but I could not find any such feeling or memory since my feelings are physical – pain and discomfort. I’m in no doubt that every illness has an emotional cause but I have no idea what the emotional cause of my physical complaints are. So this was/is frustrating.

As regards the Truth Focus Statements to be used with the Healing Code, neither was it clear which ones I could use with my physical problems, so I just chose a few that I liked.

There were twelve categories of Heart Issues that could be the cause of one’s problem. I didn’t know which ones that were; but one of them was Unforgiveness, and I’ve heard that this can be the cause of many ailments, so I used some of the truth statements in this category, though they didn’t really call out to me.

I did their on-line test to ascertain my heart issues but this did not give me clarity or any solution at all.

I have stopped doing the codes since I have received no reply to my questions, questions about the heart issues, the truth focus statements to use, and what to do when one cannot identify the feelings and unhealthy beliefs related to one’s issue.

I do feel that the lack of answers to these important questions take away the credibility of the authors and their Healing Code system.

Also, I question the inclusion of the second position or at least its name. It is termed “Adam’s apple”, suggesting that these truth codes are only for men, though at least half the potential users of the system do NOT have an Adam’s apple

Perhaps in these times when we’re questioning and trying to reform sexist matters, the authors should improve and correct the name of the second position. ( )

This book definitely deserves five stars. The content in it is priceless. Doing The Healing Codes has definitely been helping me. To give you an example, all my life I've hunched severely. I was always told, "Stand up straight," but it didn't feel right. It almost hurt, and I never remembered to keep straight. It lasted a couple minutes at most. I'm not perfect now, but the first night I did The Healing Codes, I wasn't sure anything had happened. I got in the shower, continuing my day like normal, and then I started crying. I realized I was standing up straighter than I ever had and it felt good. I'm so much better than I was. There are so many testimonies in the book: healing of scoliosis, cancer, the pain of being raped, a lizard's crushed skull, incurable diseases.
I know it's helped me tremendously in my own life, as well. I thank God constantly for bringing this book into my life. I've noticed improvements with my vision (I'm pretty nearsighted), my stomach (I have a lot of issues with it), and I even think I've grown a little bit since I started doing The Codes! Every one keeps saying I look taller.
Aside from physical issues, I also have a lot of fear. For another example, if I went out to the store with someone, I was terrified of leaving their side, for some reason afraid that they would leave me behind, or I'd never find them again. Now I'm not only okay with being left, more and more I choose to walk away.
I extremely suggest reading this book. At the very least, it has really interesting information. It's not dry, boring stuff. I found it exciting to learn from, and the authors infuse stories in it. I do my codes every day, after I wake up, before I go to bed, watching TV, sitting in the car, whenever I have the chance. I'm so thankful for the healing codes. I highly recommend you read this book. ( )

Ouch. Read the book on lark as I was bored one day. It can be interesting to see what can get published.
Overlong book promising answers to help all pretty much all your problems. Extremely repetitive and full of red flags that indicate you are being led. The authors begins talking about "science" but if one reads critically then the science is dropped relatively fast. The author changes from the idea that what would be regarded as true science may suggest something, to statements such as "we have already learned that" (quotations marks are my paraphrasing), having left out any support from true science. Quotes from eminent figures in science are taken out of context to make it seem their work endorses what you are being sold. Science is used to make the codes sound as if they have a basis in physics, but the authors do not understand the science thay talk about.

The book could be shortened with no change in meaning. My guess would be about 80 % could be removed. Having said that the repetition does make for a rather fast read, and if you miss something don't fret it will be mentioned again later.

The book indicates that The Healing Code prayers will allow the energy of love to heal your ills. Physical health, mental health, you friends health and even your pets issues can be helped. Energy fields are claimed as a magical solution that you can have help harnessing.

The book reads like an infomercial selling a product. Near the end a suggestion is given that if the Code you are given does not seem to work then you are holding some factor that stops you from benefiting. You must search deeper. As well it is recommended that you can register your book where you will find that if you have difficulties, then you can hire a coach to help you. If you choose this you need to accept an 881 word disclaimer so that the author will not be responsible for claims liabilities or losses you incur by yourself or if you try and help others. The disclaimer also says that the coaching of the codes should not be "construed" as a promise of resulting benefits. Ouch again.
I assume they will share your story if you feel they have helped.

My feeling is save your money. To bad I can't hide this from my collections

The Healing Code by Dr. Alex Lloyd with Dr. Ben Johnson helps to instruct individuals on how to heal one's self on a cellular memory level. Both doctor's share their experiences, experiments and hypothesis on using the healing codes to aid and repair the issues inside of ourselves that we are unable to comprehend. They show the reader in an easy to understand format when dealing with the subjects of cellular memories, psychology, philosophy and spirituality.

Dr. Lloyd's wife, Tracey, now Hope, was a severe manic depressive whose life was crumbling around her. After pouring much time, effort and money into her treatment, Dr. Lloyd has an epiphany while on an airplane, after talking to his distraught wife on the phone. He comes to realize that in order to heal our bodies we need to look at ourselves in a different perspective. We need to look at the things that have affected us in our lives, that have been now buried in our sub-conscious, being protected from us by our hearts. Dr. Lloyd states that our suppressed memories are the things that lay at the root of everything, from emotional to physical to spiritual states of ourselves, and in order to heal ourselves, we need to heal those memories.

Dr. Lloyd along with Dr. Johnson show you how to heal yourself by using light energy to project loving, healing thoughts into the areas of your life that leave you feeling stressed. The hypothesis is, you take a negative feeling or situation and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. You place that picture in your mind and while positioning your hands to certain key points and imagining loving light filtering through your fingers into these centers and projecting loving and caring thoughts, emotions and memories, you will be able to heal the source of all the things that are bothering you. There are testimonies from people, all over the world, who have claimed miraculous healing while using these codes. Some people have insisted that they received instantaneous results, while others say that it could take longer, depending on the issue you are dealing with.

I, myself, have been using them for almost a week. I don't know if I see any difference in myself but I am willing to give it a bit longer. I suggest keeping a journal before you start the codes and take all the issues in your life, be honest with yourself, and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. Then bring it out every few weeks and compare those same feelings with your present state and see if anything has changed. I found The Healing Codes to be an interesting read and learned a few things about cellular memories and how they impact our lives. ( )
