I gave this book a 4/5 stars because although I think it is a very cute and fun story, it can also be confusing. I like how the story shows the Owl learning about other species (caterpillars turning into butterflies) which I believe is very educational for young children and how the Owl tries its' best to take care of them which shows compassion. However, some pages can be difficult to follow because there are parts of the book where multiple scenes are being shown and it can get confusing. In addition, the author illustrates the Owl's thinking by including thought bubbles but some children may find it harder to read because there is so much going on. I think this book would be great for children to read if there is an adult guiding them until they are old enough to understand how to follow all the different scenes. ( )

A graphic novel with no words, encouraging the reader to tell the story of Owly and the butterflies he is missing.

Great color and illustrations are well placed to guide the reader.

Owly and his friend Wormy are trying to attract butterflies. They buy a particular type of flower plant that is supposed the help attract butterflies. Instead, their plant starts getting eating by little green bugs who have made the plant their home. Owly and Wormy decide they like the little green bugs and let them stay. That is, until the little green bugs have to leave. When they leave Owly and Wormy are very sad and look everywhere for the little green bugs. They wait to see if the little green bugs will return in the spring. What they find instead are two little pods that their little friends have been cocooned. Their little green bug friends have transformed into beautiful butterflies.

Owly and wormy are quite irresistable. ( )
