FOREWORD One of the praise songs we sing at our student conferences talks about not being "casual Christians." But believe me, they're everywhere. Casual Christians play the game . . . and many of them play it well. Church is where they go to be seen, not to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. Youth groups are where they go to check out the babes and hunks, not where they go to learn what the Word of God says. But I don't want to come across as such a downer. Because I know there are many, many teenagers who live their Christian lives with passion and commitment. Casual Christians they aren't. This book, No Turning Back, is a great tool for teenagers who are serious about living the Christian life. It talks about going all out, being sold out. It's a how-to guide and - how to take seriously their walk with God. Too many folks trash American teenagers, and tell them that they aren't smart enough or disciplined enough to learn and live the heavy stuff. I just don't buy that. That's why students can benefit from this book. It will challenge them to be everything they can be as Christians. It doesn't assume a teenager can only be a casual Christian. So, let's get into it. Your group can handle it. And everyone can learn from it. Dawson McAllister INTRODUCTION Dear Friend, I have a T-shirt that says, "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing." This book is designed to do just that; to keep a young person's relationship with Jesus Christ the main thing in his or her life. After all, that is what being a Christian is all about. Unfortunately, too many Christians are just getting by. Their Bible studies have become boring, dull, and routine. As a result, their lives are no different than anyone else's. What this world needs are some people who are sold out to Jesus Christ and - people who dare to make a difference for Him. If you want your young people to be all they can be for Christ, then The Main Thing series is for your group! It will challenge group members to push their walk with God to the limit, to seek God's best, and to be nothing but their best for Him. It will give them the tools to live for Christ every day. So grab a Bible and a pen, and dig into God's Word. But watch out! Once your group begins these studies, there is No Turning Back! Jeff Kinley… (mehr)
