But the main two characters, and a couple of others are warm, likeable and three dimensional. Most of the dialogue is good, too. A good pace, a light touch and some romantic tension fuelled by misunderstandings that makes this a very readable book, difficult to put down in the last half. It's essentially chick-lit but well-written and would make a great holiday read. Recommended if you like lightweight and undemanding women's fiction with a satisfying - if predictable - ending.
