This book portrays a Latino family through where they live and what they wear. I like the use of paint, color, and texture in the illustrations. In this book, we see Henkes's inspiration and fascination with nature and flowers come to life. I like the way that we follow three different journeys in this book, yet they are all connected in some way: the boy, the rabbit, and the seed (flower). This book is balanced in the way that everything comes full circle in the end. ( )

This book is the story of a little boy who was bored. Then it began to rain and he became happy. A little rabbit was stuck because of the rain and the little boy saved it and he was so happy.

This book could be used for teaching predictions. ( )

So Happy by Kevin Henkes is about a boy who helps a rabbit cross a stream. Henkes uses beautiful imagery to describe the stream. This book also shows the relationships between the characters vividly. While it wasn't my favorite of Henkes' books it had nice imagery and beautiful pictures.
