I believe I got this as a deal of the day on Kindle and was pleasantly suprised. Love the character and will see if there are more books about her. ( ) A great read and very believable. The book starts as Martin Talbot receives a package from the family attorney. The package was to be given to Martin upon his mother's death or if she became incapacitated. Since she was in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimer's disease, the second criteria was met. The package contained a letter revealing the location of a secret closet in the basement of their family home, which was up for sale. Upon finding the secret closet, Martin is shocked to discover his mother is the famed masked crime fighter, the Black Stiletto. Also in the closet were a series of diaries written by his mother. Martin starts with the first, 1958. He learns the circumstances of her fight from Odessa, Texas, and subsequent arrival in New York city. The Black Stiletto did not possess any super powers, she just trained in the fighting techniques of the day - boxing, karate, and judo. Her mafia boyfriend taught her how to fight with a knife, and no surprise the stiletto was her favorite. I really enjoyed this book. It was full of action and kept me turning pages. In addition it was very believable. There was also the story line from present time which was seamlessly inserted. I highly recommend this book. A great read and very believable.
