Short, concise (sometimes maddeningly so) look at the major tenets of Christianity. In just 184 short pages, Ryrie hits God, man, Christ, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, the church, and the future. It is a good reference tool, and if more detail is needed, then a systematic theology can be consulted. It is easy to read and doesn't get bogged down in lots of theological language. Therefore, this is accessible to the layperson. (

Ryrie does an excellent job of breaking down fundamental doctrines of Evangelical Theology. This is a great read for new Christians or anyone trying to expand their knowledge of what they believe. (

A clear, scriptural explanation of the major doctines of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Written for laymen, the book expounds in non-theological terms about such doctrines as the inspiration of the Bible, salvation, the Holy Spirit, Christ and what the future holds. Very readable book written by a then professor of systematic theology at Dallas Theological Seminary and author of the popular Ryrie Study Bible . (
