A book that details the wild orchids mostly in the New England/New York area. A good feature is that it includes an actual key, and one that can be used without having to collect the plant. A downside is the limited descriptions, though I realize these are mainly for lay people. Also, the color plates are clustered in three large groupings in the book rather than being with the description, requiring flipping back and forth, which is inconvenient while reading, and extremely inconvenient for use in the field. The listing of the range is better than many guides, and the description of the status (endangered or not) is very useful. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Wild orchids evoke a particular and sometimes addictive fascination among naturalists, botanists, and wildflower enthusiasts.
