There are not 100 different animals as advertised... certain animals are listed twice, like the lions, and other animals are just baby versions (like cat and kitten). Also, overlooking the duplicates, there are 101 pictures and 119 individuals, so I just don't know what to think anymore. Summary: This book is for beginning readers to learn about 100 different types of animals. The pages are made of tough cardboard for less damage to occur. The pages have bright colors and the pictures of each animal catch the reader’s attention. Personal Reaction: I thought this book was super precious! I liked reading this to my nephews because every single time I turned to a page they looked excited to be reading! After every single page they asked what the next animal was, where it lived, and if they could have it as a pet. Of course, for most of the animals I said no they couldn’t. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1.) Have the students draw their favorite animal from the book and explain why it’s their favorite animal. 2.) I would have them pick an animal that they would want to have for a pet. If it was an animal that was strange for a pet then I would have them explain what they have to do for that pet and where would it sleep. It is time to visit animals of the sea, the outback, the jungle, the farm, the arctic and more! This board book does exactly as the title promises: it displays photographs of 100 different animals and insects. Each page depicts three to five animals. Some pictures are left alone with the background depicting the habitat of the animal or insect. In other pictures, the backgrounds have been removed and the animal is presented on a background of a solid color. The bright, standard colors of the images contrast enough so that no additional border is needed to separate the images. These backgrounds also allow children to practice their color names. The animals are organized mainly by the habitats in which they live. One page shows house pets. Another page depicts jungle animals and so on. The images present real-life depictions of animals from which children can learn their names. The name of the animal is also printed on each picture in black text. Therefore, as children get older, they will be able to associate the words with the pictures, thus expanding their vocabulary. This board book is recommended for infants and toddlers. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
