Another fantastic book by the author. Lots of twists & turns to keep you going to the end. A very hard to put down book! ( )

This is an exciting conclusion to an excellent trilogy. Lewis maintains his sharp sense of pace, character and setting in this final entry. The dialog is natural and consistent, always staying true to character. The action is, as always, clean and well described.

While I think this concludes the series nicely for these characters, the ending does not preclude the reader from seeing some of them again. There is plenty of story left for the characters in the Halcyon series, and Lewis has laid the ground work for events in his next series, tying the Other Earth stories together.

Well written and conceived, the conclusion to the first story arc in the Other Earth series comes to a satisfying conclusion that will leave readers eager for more stories set in this world, ( )

I liked the third part of the Halcyon trilogy. It had all the advantages of the previous parts: fast pace, surprising twists and turns, believable characters, natural dialogues and interesting inventions. The thing that made me rate it a bit lower than the other books was the theme - I like 'adventures' more than 'revenge stories'.

I got to know Steampunk thanks to Joseph Robert Lewis and his Halcyon Trilogy. Thank you! ( )

This is the last book in the Halycon Trilogy developed by Robert Joseph Lewis. Once again the setting is the alternative history developed by Lewis filled with many familiar and even more unfamiliar places, animals, and characters. I thought this was the best of the three books (though I thoroughly enjoyed the first two). By book three it is evident that Lewis has become intimately familiar with his characters and the world they live in. The plot is more intricate than those in the first two books and the pace of the story is perfect. There is a nice blend of tension and humor throughout the story. By now the reader really relates to the characters thanks to Lewis' continued character development. I can truly say I was sorry to see the story end. I wonder what Taziri, Qhora, and the rest of the characters are doing now? ( )

Like most I was not fortunate enough to read the first two before this one. Winning it in a Librarything Giveaway it took some time before I got the book and then was able to read it due to my evil email. However, once the book was delivered I found that I was missing something that I would greatly have enjoyed sooner. Normally I am not a steam punk reader. As that genre usually doesn’t fullfill all my needs and leaves me with to many grumpy questions and analogies. However, I was in love as soon as I started reading this book and it drew me in. Needless to say I’m also in the process of collecting the previous two books in this trilogy since I adored and loved it so much.

It’s always a pleasure to find an author that doesn’t play upon the usual devices and so once again one has been found. Building a world with his own Mythology and imagination I was sucked in as soon as I started reading. The character of Qhora was enrapturing as I grew to love her and all her quirks being taken on this wonderful imaginative ride was a pleasure I am thankful for the author allowing me a second chance to review. This in no way makes or made me bias to my concept of his creation but it did allow me a chance not to miss out on the story he has created.

Rich characters and abound with action. I love how each chapter was told in a different way and it helped add to the scenes and feelings of things all together as a whole. With all of this having been said I can only beseech you all to pick up the book and fall in love with it yourselves. ( )
