First 80% of the book I would have given it a five-star ( ) I picked the first edition hardcover up from a secondhand book store for a mere $5 on the basis of the blurb sounding vaguely interesting and I'm glad I did, whilst I haven't read the book prior to it in the series there's plenty of background overlap at the start so you don't feel you're missing something. The story is one that hasn't been done to death - an incursion from Pakistan into India's Kashmir region spiralling out of control after villagers kill some criminal Pakistani soldiers peak of the spiral being all out war between the two countries and Pakistan dropping a nuclear bomb. Enter our hero, fresh from escaping terrorists trying to hunt him down he goes on a special mission to overthrow the pro-Islamic Pakistani leader and install a more palatable leader who will make peace with India before they retaliate with overwhelming nuclear force for the atrocity inflicted upon them. It was good, not too absurd but plenty of action along with twists and turns. Would read again, am now buying the book before and after this one. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
