“Take me out to the ball game” is a book based on the popular and still used song that is based around baseball. There are many things to the book regardless of it being about a song that is only a couple lines long. It is worth reading and sharing it with your students. The first thing you notice is that it doesn’t start right out with the song. It begins with the story of two siblings that like baseball and get taken to a game. The art style is beautifully done and truly tells the story through the use of an old song that doesn’t have a whole lot of story to it. The biggest thing I appreciated is that the story told through the art work is all inclusive. Typically baseball is a boy’s thing but the story revolves around two girls who love baseball and is taken to a game by their grandmother. ( )

This is a cute story that goes along with the song, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". At the end of the story is the actual song written in music so that it can be played on the piano and sung. ( )
