His owner tired of his behavior sends him to obedience classes. After completing classes his owner throws him a party. His owner soon realizes she liked the old Ralph and quickly reminds him of the cat he use to be. This is a great book to introduce children about kids with behavioral issues or to remind kids that it is okay to just be yourself. ( ) Summary: This story is about a girl named Sarah who has a cat named Ralph. Ralph is a very rotten cat and makes a mess all around the house. Sarah sends Ralph to feline school and he completely changes his behaviors. However, Sarah realizes by the end of the book that she liked Ralph better when he was rotten. Critical Response: Through text and pictures this book does a great job of presenting a very good theme. This theme is that a person is perfect just the way they are. Classroom Connections: This is a great book to teach students that they are perfect just the way they are. Students can write a list of things they like about themselves. Students can use a piece of red construction paper and make a cat out of it. Students can pick a picture out of the book and draw and label what a messy room would look like.
