Fiction. Suspense. Thriller. The Enemy of My Enemy was the #1 Top Rated (best reviewed) Action/Adventure for 10 straight months....Bestselling author Richard Bard returns with his highly rated Brainrush thriller series, pitting hero Jake Bronson against his jihadist nemesisâ??and a new bioweapon that threatens the soul of every mother in America. When a freak accident gave Jake Bronson near-superhuman mental powers and landed his loved ones in the crosshairs of an Islamic terrorist, the only way out was with guns blazing. But Jake was unable to put a stop to his nightmares or his murderous nemesis, Luciano Battista, in that ferocious Afghan mountains showdown. Now the terror czar and his minions have brought the fight to American soilâ??along with the most terrifying bioweapon that has ever threatened the free world. They demand vengeance, and Jake's family and friends are caught in the crossfire. From California's beaches and Mexico's deserts to the depths of a raging underground river and the treacherous Venezuelan jungle, Jake and his unlikely alliance of combat veterans and gangsters wage a rolling war of wits, weapons, and indomitable willâ??to rescue those they love, to save America from extinction, and to stop a madman's bid for global conquest dead in its tracks. An "international thriller with soul." Ideal reading for fans of Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler, James Rollins, Brad Thor, Dan Brown, Matthew Reilly, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, and Vince Flynn.Editorial Reviews"Terror grows most freely where you least expect it. "Brainrush II: The Enemy of My Enemy" is the follow up to Richard Bard's previously Acclaimed Brainrush, following the life of Jake Bronson as he finds that the very enemy he fought for so long seems to be building itself up in his own hometown. Bronson begins to investigate the cell and it will take him far and wide, and he starts to doubt if he alone can stop the plots. "Brainrush II" is a fine pick for fans of the previous and for readers of action thrillers in general, very much recommended." â?? ABR's full The Enemy of my Enemy audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.

Following on from the events in ‘Brainrush’ Jake Bronson’s life is back to normal, until a terrorist tries to get payback for what Jake did at the end of the last book. Aware that all is not ok, Jake and his friends are hunted by an enemy they thought to be dead. This time the evil terrorist has even more sinister plans in store, not only do they want to make Jake pay but they are on American soil and about to release a toxin that will change America forever. When Jake finds out the extent of the plans, he and his gang of misfits make unlikely alliances in order to neutralise the threat….but will they make it on time?

I think I may be slightly in love with Jake Bronson – he is a hero everyone can support, he cares for his friends and family, willing to do whatever it takes to make them safe. Richard Bard is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, he really knows how to weave a fun and action-packed story. He has such a way with words that you cannot help but care for and identify with the characters. Although I’m not too fond with how he ends the books – It makes me crave the next audio book, thankfully I have the next one ready to go.

R.C.Bray is on fine form in this audio book, he has a great ability to grab the listener’s attention and not let go. I’ll be honest, I have done absolutely nothing today but listen to this audio book, that’s over 10 heavenly hours of enjoyment. The production is flawless and the addition of the music at the beginning and end of the audio book adds an air of suspense. If you haven’t yet spent any time with Mr. Bray may I suggest you start, it really is a fun experience. Start with the first book in this series though.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one. This is so action packed I feel like I’m watching a movie in my head as I read. Hey out there in Hollywood, this would make an excellent movie, hint, hint.
Jake Bronson has a special gift or curse depending on how you look at it, created by an accident. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you need to read the first book.
Richard Bard has learned how to take a story and make it enough of a roller coaster ride that you are holding on waiting for the next drop. He has added enough current events to make the story very believable. It is not only an action roller coaster, but also at times an emotional rollercoaster. Through this book we get to read about terrorists, drug cartels, gang members, and other unsavory people. I can travel to places through his books that I will probably never be able to travel to. I get the thrill of watching Jake come to the rescue once again. In the end the book leaves us with a satisfying conclusion, yet yearning for the next book. Hurry please, and thank you. ( )
