This is a fictional story about a day in the life of a woman whose husband is an important British diplomat in Paris. We follow her through her day as she prepares for an important dinner party that might determine her husband's next posting. The story started out ok but it slowed down for me about half way through and I found myself skimming to get to the end. ( )

Took me several more days than usual to finish a book. Non-relatable characters. Some phrases in french not explained. Not necessary but a little off putting. Kind of a bizarre story. Didn't care about any of the characters. ( )
