It describes what how baseball is played from warming-up to the end of making a home run. As this book shows us some poems as we learn about baseball and how fun it can be during baseball season. Ages: 4-8 Source: Pierce County Library System My favorite thing about this book is the illustrations. Although I do not think the illustrations aren't incredibly well done, I enjoy the fact that they are painted and are imperfect. This book is an informational text about baseball, which is perfect for baseball season and baseball fanatics found within your classroom. The rhyming words are perfect for younger elementary students to read, pronounce, and understand. Readers gain a better understanding of the sport of baseball after reading this text. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

I would consider this poetry book informational because if someone did not know a lot about baseball they would be able to learn a good amount of information from this book. Some examples would be like what the umpire does, the different types of pitches the pitcher uses, and the different ways a baseball can be used. The poems in this poetry book describe the positions of the pitcher, catcher, first baseman, second baseman, shortstop, third basemen, and right fielder. It also has poems describing a base stealer, an umpire, and a slugger hitter. The author makes the information come across in a fun way for younger students. The poems rhyme and are very straightforward. Some of the stanzas have words that are moving up and down the page so that is fun for the readers to help them visualize what the stanza is describing.
