I was not a big fan of this book. It reminded me too much of another book series I had read. It was very easy for me to figure out you the inside man was in the group and who was controlling him. It was just kinda boring for me. I wasn't into any of the characters. I just didn't really care if the bad guy was defeated or not. Really wasn't that good of a read for me. ( )The story starts with 14 year-old Mouch in Talsom mental asylum. The resident doctor is trying to get his to admit that his sock puppet Sherman and imaginary friend Mav are not real. No matter how she presses the issue, Mav and Sherman are still a major role in Mouch’s life. Finally she relents and contacts Dr. Jenkins offers Mouch to get out of the asylum and attend his private school for psychics. Mouch will do about anything to get out to Talsom so he agrees. Everything seems to be going smoothly for Mouch, there is a lot of support from Dr. Jenkins and the Johnson’s. He even learns that he is a rare dream psychic. Then things start going wrong. A strange man starts invading his dreams and even tries to kill him. The man is Pith. He is a strong dream psychic too and he is trying to over throw the psychic counsel. He is targeting Mouch because later Mouch will be an asset to Dr. Jenkins opposing Pith’s control. I really liked this story. I felt for poor Mouch, this kids has had nothing and can only remember his life in the asylum. I really liked the different psychics and siphons. There is a great twist on who the mole is, I never would have guessed the one. It’s also great the interaction between Mouch, Sherman, and Mav. I hope there is more to come with Mouch. I can see this easily being a series. This is one that kids, young adults, and adults will like. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Being a teenager is tough enough, but try it when you have schizophrenia and psychic abilities that make all of your imaginary friends real... The odds are against Mouch-he's locked up in Talsom Mental Asylum; his only friends are a sock puppet and his shadow. Worst of all, he suffers from amnesia; his earliest memory is of being found alone in a mall wearing nothing but a pair of polka-dotted boxer shorts, a pair of fluffy white bunny slippers, and a hat made from a newspaper.... and covered in a generous amount of blood. When an elderly gentleman visits him and reveals that Mouch is not crazy but is actually a psychic, Mouch does what any rational person would do-he runs for the door. Once outside of Talsom, Mouch soon finds himself thrust into a battle against a sinister movement of dark psychics who threaten to destroy the entire psychic community.
