Untouched (Denazen # 1.5) by Jus Accardo

Untouched is a short novella, all told from Kale’s point of view, the interesting thing about the story being told by Kale is that he sees things very different from everyone else due to he was locked up and isolated for a very long time. Since he has never experiences everyday things we get to see firsthand his confusion and lack of humor. I have to say it was great reading this story from Kale’s point of view.

Kale and Dez have set out to track down other Sixes, warning them of the Denazen Corp and offering them a safe place to go. Of course people from the Denazen Corp are right behind them trying to capture Kale once again. Kale and Dez will have to fight for their lives and Kale knows that no matter what he has to keep Dez safe. Dez is the only person he can touch without killing them and Kale would do anything to protect her.

Jus Accardo has done an excellent job writing this short novella, the story is written extremely well and of course you never set it down till you reach the end. I cannot wait to read book 2 in this series….....Toxic is to be released in September 2012.

This was a great novelette to help tide us over until Toxic comes out. Jus did a great job with Kale's POV although sometimes I had to remember it was his and not Dez's.

He is quite innocent having been hidden away from the real world for so long, it's refreshing seeing his take on everyday occurrences.

A new character is introduced, Kiernan. She has a pretty cool ability with some major atitude. You can't help but to like the new Six addition.

This story had a great deal of excitement in the short amount of pages I read. A definite intermission read until the next installment! ( )

Untouched by Jus Accardo is a novella that takes place between the first and second book of the series. If you haven't read Touch, I recommend that you do so before you read this book. There are some definite spoilers if you haven't read the first book. I haven't read the first book yet so this is my first introduction to Dez and Kale. Accardo did an excellent job with filling in the blanks so I didn't feel lost while reading.
In this novella, the main characters, Dez and Kale are searching for others like them. The find Kiernan McGuire. In order to convince her to come with them, they have to earn her trust. They end up at an amusement park where the atmosphere is more laid back. Kale starts to become paranoid that someone is following them. His worst fears are realized and he has to confront an old enemy.
This is a great story line. The characters have abilities sort of like X-Men. The Denazen want to use them for their own evil purposes. The characters are great. I love the relationship between Dez and Kale. They compliment each other in a lot of ways. I think readers will like this series a lot. It has action, romance, and adventure. ( )

I enjoyed “Untouched”, I did. But I wanted more. I know, I know, this is only a novella to hold the readers over until “Toxic” is released, but I needed more.

Let’s discuss the great things about “Untouched”, shall we?
Kiernan, a character that I hope will play a larger part in “Toxic”, is introduced in “Untouched”. She is a lot like Dez, so she’s easy to like. In fact, I may actually like her better than Dez. She’s witty, her power is awesome, and she’s seriously kick-ass. The scene with the broom? Can I high-five my computer screen, or would that be strange? ‘Cause she is pretty awesome in that scene.

The relationship between Dez and Kale: I loved the development of their relationship throughout “Touch”. What’s even better is that in this novella, you get to see just how much Dez means to Kale, as the story is told through his point of view. He would do anything for her, and he manages to prove that near the end.

What I didn’t like:
Honestly, my only problem with “Untouched” is that I needed more. I would’ve liked to learn a bit more about Kiernan. I would’ve even liked to see the Kale and Samsen battle play out a bit more.

“Sometimes I wonder at your complete disregard for safety…” Her lips tilted upward and a grin lit her entire face. Leaning close, warm breath caressed my neck as she whispered, “You say that like it’s a bad thing.”

MY REVIEW

I Love that Kale is once again on the cover of this book, you can certainly see what Deznee means about those beautiful blue staring eyes! Hmmm tasty!
Untouched is a short novella that follows after Touch (to keep us going a little until Toxic is released in September 2012). This time the story is from Kale's point of view, so it has some humour, as he is still relatively new to the experiences of the outside world away from Denazen Corporation.
Deznee and Kale are working with Ginger and the free sixes to try and keep as many sixes free from Denazen as they can. This means going to the sixes listed on the sheet that Brandt got hold of and convincing them to hide away from Denazen and its employees, better still is to talk them into fighting the fight against Denazen.
In this story we meet Kiernan. we learn that Deznee is still the bloshy girl she always was who puts her life on the line to help others.
We also learn a little more about Kale. We learn he was tortured emotionally as well as physically by a Denazen Agent called Samsen.
Kale and Deznee's love is still blooming, even though they face danger all around them.
So, did I enjoy the novella? Yes ....BUT it made me want Toxic now! Would I recommend reading this novella? Yes!
