I know this is part of a series but I felt it stood on its own. I have not read any of the others in the series.
Hilary Greene is an ex-DI and has been living on a boat for some time but retirement isn't for her. She goes back to her old station as a consultant to lead a team in solving cold cases. The first case is a 20 year old unsolved murder of a mother who was not your typical soccer mom. There are literally no leads and some of the witnesses have died of old age.
I had a pretty good idea from almost the beginning of who had committed the murder. Ms. Greene did pick up a stalker along the way and I didn't really like that that issue was unfinished at the end of the book but I'm sure that was the lead in for the next in the series maybe. ( )
