It never would have occurred to me to write a novel about aliens and Mormons, so this book was . . . intriguing. Sometimes I cringe when I read novels by LDS authors set in an LDS world because the dialogue tends to be a bit cheesy at times, and it seems like characters are always praying. But, it's a true reflection of Mormon culture; however, seeing the culture outside of my own sphere is always a little strange.

I enjoyed the overall concept of the novel, especially having Armies-of-Helaman-esque warriors lead the troops in restoring the world to what it once was. I wished I could have gotten a bit more back story on some of the characters, especially Jeremy. His motivations for betraying his entire race were never quite clear to me.

This novel is the first of its kind, and I can't help but wonder if it will start a new trend. ( )
