ER book review.
This is an interesting erotic/ romance/ sci-fi hybird novel.
The heroine, Claudia's car breaks down and she ends up meeting an alien who has a sort of pimp/ taxi driver/ trainer who takes her back to his home planet Kir on an alien spacecraft.
She is trained on the trip to become a kettul, which are effectively soldiers hookers in a brothels (shenda jiks) but it's not a low rank job in alien society.
She can play a special instrument that signifies she has alien ancestory. She is fated to rescue a prince that is held, sleeping beauty-like, in a casket after a previous, failed, coup.
Some alien politics, some alien animals, a decent fantasy romance.

This book is about an Earth girl who becomes a 'great lover' for an alien race on another planet. During her trip and after she lands, she finds out she is the "chosen one" to end a war between the aliens that took her and their warring co-inhabitants. Yet the story is much more than this. It combines music, love, sex, adventure, supernatural, romance and sci-fi. I enjoyed this book. The story line was something I've never read before. This is a def. R-rating book due to the graphic sexual scenes. Personally, I didn't care for some of these scenes and skimmed these parts of the story but the storyline was really good and kept me reading. If you like sci-fi and romance books then this one combines them both beautifully! I'd read the next book in this series :)

Srae Iss-Ka-Mala: Book 1 of the Iss-Ka-Mala Chronicles (Volume 1) (edition 2012) by Chaeya.
I received this book through LibraryThing and it is a E-book copy. It would be 505 pages long.
The main character is an earth woman Claudia Bellows AKA "Srae Iss-Ka-Mala". She goes to the planet Kir and is part of a prophecy about ending the war. Jakyael Iss-Ka-Mala is a person we see behind the scenes and he gives Srae a KaMala – a harp-like instrument created by the lower gods of Kir. The instrument can only be played by those possessing the sacred bloodline, meaning they must be a direct descendant of one of the lower gods. Mendon Pelaea Yoaden has been in her dreams since she was a small child, she sees him in a glass coffin, like Sleeping Beauty. Can to people from such different back grounds work together and make the prophecy come to pass. Please note that there are instances of strong language and some graphic sex. ( )
