2 stars for Exiled by Maya Banks. This was porn. It had the same plot as the porno movies I somehow ended up watching with my D&D group back in my 20s. In other words not much. This spoiler is x-rated. Don't read if you get offended easily. There was a whole lot of the heroine submitting sexually to 4 guys. There was coming on her chest and cum dribbling out of her mouth and sex with one guy after another and I swear it was in that weird position they have in porn movies so the camera can get up close and see everything. The hero a prince of some small island in the mediterranean, got off on sharing her with his guards. No mention of condoms or possible pregnancies or what have you. It ended with a contrived separation. All he would have had to do is tell her what was up before he sent her away. Just a "hang on babe, I'll come for you."

I mean I don't mind erotica as you can tell from my shelves and I wasn't offended reading this but seriously read it and tell me it wasn't just a porn flick with an attempt to make it girly. Didn't buy the emotions or the plot. On the other hand, it was weird in that the heroine didn't constantly take showers (excessive showering seems to be a staple in MBs books) which made me suspect this wasn't written by MB but rather by some man she knows.

4 stars for Sway by Lauren Dane. I really liked this one. Here the hero was about 16 years older than the heroine. He worried about it in a rather realistic way. I really enjoyed the artistic heroine. She is one of the only artistic heroines I read about that I believed she might actually make it as an artist. She was strong and self assured and just an all around well written character. She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go for it. The hero had a few problems from left over stuff from his dead wife. I really liked him and his domination in the bedroom seemed realistic. He had some kink but didn't and hadn't made it a life style. They just seemed to find their way there together with him leading her because he had an interest there and she was willing to submit in the bedroom but not in the outside world. I liked the whole feel of the book. Well written with believable situations and emotions. Nice secondary characters. ( )

Even though this is considered the first book in the Delicious series its actually Gillian's friends (from the Brown series Never Enough).

First up is Daisy who is an artist. She also has a million other jobs including helping Juliet run her bakery business and Mary running her catering business. She is a very smart and gifted 24 year old.

Levi Warner is a 40 year old lawyer who's marriage ended with his wife killing herself and her baby while drunk driving. He had become jaded from his wreck of a marriage and doesn't think he will ever get married again.

When Levi and Daisy meet the sparks fly instantly. But Levi has a huge issue with there age difference and he would also like to be able to be his dominant self in the bedroom for once and doesn't think Daisy would be up for that. Once Daisy proves she is up for that the kink so to speak is on..

This was a very sexy May-December romance. And as with most it had its up's and down's based on the age difference.

Juliet's books is next and its called Tart and is due in Nov 2012 ( )

Finished this awhile ago. It had two novellas. The one by Maya Banks was awful (1 star). The one by Lauren Dane was great (4-5 stars). ( )

Exiled by Maya Banks

I have never read anything by Maya before and I honestly don't know why. I loved everything about Exiled. Ok maybe not all of it, there were some parts that where a little far fetched, but overall it was very enjoyable.

Sway by Lauren Dane

Come to think of it, I have never read anything by Lauren Dane either. If it's possible I love 'sway' more than 'exiled'. I felt more connected it this story then the previous one. It felt more real to me. The characters were lively, great story line and plot. The hero was a real man and the heroine had a nice sassy vibe.

Overall I managed to discover two new great authors that I will be reading more from. ( )
