4416. The Paper Chase, by John Jay Osborn, Jr. (read 27 Feb 2008) I was in law school over fifty years ago--this novel was written by a guy at Harvard law and published in 1971. The characters are more psychotic than the kids I went to law school with, and also more amoral. The plot is not memorable but some of the scenes drawn from class episodes involving Professor Kingsbury are funny and remind me of the real thing. But that the central character does what he does when he gets his grades when they come in the summer is a far-fetched and incredible twist in the story. No sane person would do that so far as I can imagine. ( )
