The author has great imagination but not so great writting skills. The story of Snow White told from the Evil Queen's point of view. I wish the writting was better (lots of gramatical errors and confusing in parts)because the concept is so interesting. The cover of this story first caught my attention. It is unfortunately the best part of the tale, which is "explained" with an awkward, lengthy (and unnecessary) prologue. The idea for the story itself is intriguing, but I find the execution continues the awkwardness of the prologue. Grammar and punctuation need some serious attention, tense fluctuates, and the combination of period and modern phrases clearly reveal the presence of the author. The queen doesn't seem to be able to find her own voice, and repetition interrupts the flow. More like a first draft than a finished piece, polishing the prose would go a long way toward carrying the promise of a clever tale. 4.5 Stars A short read, but not lacking in the slightest. There's this sinister tone, that draws you in. The mystery of it all, the tid bits of foreshadowing and name or lack of name dropping, hooks you, and pulls you in to read, hoping you will get a hint of who, the evil queen is. This is a different take on the old stories we know, and don't know. It's dark, cold, and a tease to whats to come, it's a tease as to getting us thinking about what side we're one, and who's side is actually right. I highly recommend this short, it's a start down a cold shadow of the things we know and what we are left to know. Happy reading -Emily (Free copy through Kindle store.) I really liked the concept for this story. Very interesting take on the Snow White tale. However, I was really bored by the writing. The descriptions felt overly detailed to the point of me completely losing interest. Despite how short it was, it seemed to drag on because of all the unnecessary descriptions. Also the epistolary format of the short story came off as rather awkward to me. Cool idea, but not well done enough for me to want to read the full Grimm Diaries stories. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Really pleasant writing, and an intro to an interesting retelling of Snow White's story.
It's good enough that I marked this author for my 'authors to read more by shelf', and next time I'll go bookhunting, he's on my want-to-find list. ( )
