“The Hand-Me-Down-Doll” is a modern fantasy picture book for children from kindergarten to first grade. I thought this book was very sweet! It looks and read like it is from an older time which makes me like it even more. I thought the illustrations beautifully done, the style reminded me a bit of the illustrations in Madeline, and the story line is engaging and easy to follow. I also like it because it has a good theme of, “one’s trash is another’s treasure”, and no matter what, you will find someone that will appreciate and love you. I can see any little girl being drawn to this book! ( )

This book is about a beautiful doll that is never loved and handed down from person to person. All of the people who get possession of her do not appreciate her or her beauty, but eventually finds a good home with a caring poor child. This book has a theme of caring for things and being grateful for what you have. Nice story, but not my favorite. ( )
