This was one of my favourite books when I was little so when I saw it in an op shop for $1 I had to pick it up!
Milly-Molly-Mandy is a little girl who lives with her Father, Mother, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle & Aunty in the big white house with the thatched roof. The book is a collection of stories that are just delightful. They all have a lesson at the end of the story that will get your kid's brain working! Being a children's book it's veeery slow paced but I think it's perfect for the times we're living in right now.
This is a beautiful read that children will love & adults will find comforting as an old foavourite. ( )

38 months - O really enjoyed this and insisted on reading the whole thing in two sittings. Of course I'm starting to believe that she pretty much likes every book we read. I enjoyed it too although I got very tired of saying Milly Molly Mandy over and over again. These stories could be edited to use a few she, her, they and maybe just use the full names of her friend the first time and after that just use the first name. I can't see that it's necessary to use "Little Friend Susan" every time she's mentioned. Seriously who on earth would give their child three names! This kid needs a nick name for her nick names! Oy! ( )

A blast from the past.

As a child I was fascinated by these old-fashioned stories of everyday life in an extended family in an English village. I especially was fascinated by the "Bombay bloomer" Milly-Molly-Mandy wore which used to hang below her striped dress and I loved the maps of the village on the end papers.

I wonder what my grand-daughters will make of it. ( )
