Good adventure story.
I thought the romance got acknowledged a little too early in the book and so it lost a little suspense. Bane was most interesting when he was breezing through Lydia’s office space, rearranging stuff on her desk just for the heck of it, and flippantly demanding translations of boring documents. Once the mystery of him was gone, the book lost some sparkle. So, that part probably could have been strung out some more.
Some of the dialogue got a bit anachronistic. But the characters and plot were very enjoyable. ( )

There were some parts that I found the female heroine annoying but overall I loved the story and the characters and will be reading more from this author. ( )

More historical romance. Nice and fluffy. It had a nice adventure to it though- and I learned a little bit about the use of opium in medicines in the late 1800's. It was a fun read. ( )

I think I chose this book because my brother is a translator, but there is a lot more to this book than what Lydia does in the office. This is my second book by this author and I'm sure I'll look for more in the future. ( )

This was a decent read. Inspirational. I think that there were just a few things that bothered me but not enough to hate the book. I adored Lydia from beginning to end but, Bane did not do it for me. I don't know he annoyed me enough to take some stars off the read but other than that I liked the book and the story. ( )
