This was a fun story told by Ethan Long about a barn yard pig that just could not get any piece and quiet on the farm. If it wasn't the cow or rat it was the dog or the chicken. The pig gave in and laid down in the mud to try and drown out the noise all his friends were making. The fun twist at the end was that the noise each animal was making was their part in a plan for the pig's birthday. Great story with a fun ending for the reader.
The illustrations were very comical would appeal to the younger crowd very well. These type of books are well portrayed through cartoon illustration. ( )

This is a story for preschoolers and for children who are just learning how to read. The book has very colorful pictures that draw children into the story. Pig, who wants to take a nap, but all of his friends are making too much noise; so Pig devises a plan to help him get some sleep. Little does Pig know all of his friends are actually getting everything ready in order to surprise him with a birthday party! The pages are filled with cartoon illustrations and a few words per page will be interesting for preschoolers. As you turn each page, another animal friend comes on to the scene bringing something to help set up Pig’s birthday party. Pig only sees this as a distraction. Little does Pig know the fun is just beginning! Long is an award winning author and an internationally recognized children’s book author and illustrator. He has written over 60 children’s books and has an Emmy nominated series to his credit. Long currently lives with his wife Heather and his three children in Orlando, Florida. –Andrea ( )
