I like how this book touches on the culture of luchadores in the Latino Community. The idea of a little boy taking on his own battles the way a famous luchador would is always fun to see!

A great book for children to reflect on and see their culture present in a story. Allows kids that aren't part of the culture to learn about some folktales in the Hispanic community and leaves them wanting to know more. A funny and entertaining book to read to kids. ( )

This book is suitable for primary aged students. It is about a boy who wrestles in a "lucha libra" against fierce competitors. The boy is able to use his smarts to pin each of them down. Except, when his two biggest competitors face him, his two baby sisters, he decides there is nothing better to do but join them. This book conveys the message that working together is much more efficient then working alone. I would include this book in my classroom library because I know that students would be pick it up. It is so engaging and would make them excited about reading!

Primary. This book is about a little Mexican boy who likes to imagine he is a famous luchador and fights a few different monsters. This book would be a great opportunity to show some Mexican and other Spanish speaking culture in a fun way.
