Santa Claus is a widely known fictional character that has spread across the globe. This book shares the story, history, and religious background of how Santa Claus came to be the jolly, round man, in the red suit, we see today. This book is culturally rich and allows the reader to explore many different aspects of Santa. I like how the author, Gail Gibbons, provides the reader with all the information on the subject he or she is reading, instead of choosing just one. Also, her illustrations are not realistic but, they are beautifully done with the use of watercolors. ( )
