Oh man. So cute. Duffy is a pug who likes to nap. He takes many naps throughout the day and also eats a lot. Obviously the Woods know pugs. There are very subtle clocks scattered throughout so you can talk about what time each nap or meal is happening. Duffy also wears some outfits. I don't even know what to say, it's so cute. ( )

Summary:
Told from a 3rd-persons POV this book tells the story of a pug named Duffy. Duffy does a lot of different things such as play outside and lay in the sun, play dress up, going to the bank with his mistress, going to the park, and rides in a car. Most of all, his favorite thing is to take naps! Duffy takes a before breakfast nap, after breakfast nap, late morning nap, mid-day nap, early afternoon nap, and many other naps throughout his day. His friend (a child) comes home from school and plays with Duffy. IT'S DUFFY TIME! (at 3:00pm)
3:45 pm, the child goes inside to start her homework and Duffy takes a nap. At the end of the day, the little girl puts on her pajamas and puts on matching ones for Duffy, as well. Then they both go to bed.

Illustrations:
On just about every other page, a clock is drawn on the page to let the readers know what time of the day when Duffy takes his naps, eats, and goes out. The artist, Don Wood, put a lot of expression in Duffy's face. When he first wakes up and smells breakfast, the look on his face is filled with excitement and curiosity. Duffy's face is filled with happiness when he plays dress up. Whenever Duffy is napping he either has a happy or exhausted expression on his face. This brings so much life to Duffy and the readers can pick up on what Duffy is feeling due to this.

Notes/My opinion:
This story pretty much tells the tale of an average dog's day.... taking lots of naps. Very cute book and the hidden clocks in the art is a nice touch. ( )

Good simple story about Duffy the Pug and what he does all day…which is pretty much nap all the time. Cute example of a dogs daily life.
